For the iPod user there is an ever expanding list of Audiobook Apps both free and for purchase. The link found here to Best Universal Audiobook Apps from the Blog appadvice.com features ten they consider to be the best.
The first type of Apps highlighted on this list offer a large selection of free public domain audiobook classics within while another concentrates on children’s audiobooks.
Other Apps offer features such as bookmarking your audiobook with a touch of the play/pause button or more advanced bookmarking with the ability to add your own notes to your marks. Praise is given to Audible’s Audiobook App as well as the Overdrive Media Console which allows direct downloading from enabled libraries to iPods.
Enjoy checking out this interesting array of Audiobook Apps. If you decide to try one or two, be sure to check the feedback at iTunes to make sure they are up to date with your IOS. And if you’ve found audiobook apps you love or think are even better please share those with us.

DockMarket’s Bookmark App was my favorite for years, sadly the author has stopped updating it in the last year. It is very buggy now – not worth a purchase.
If the Audible App would get a version of Bookmarks adjustable time ribbon – for both reversing and fast forwarding – it would be perfect!
