Xe Sands – a Familiar Name to Romance Listeners
Xe Sands is a narrator who has won the admiration of romance listeners with her exceptional performances. After hearing her second romance narration, Anne Stuart’s Fire and Ice, which happened to also be only her third narration, Xe immediately moved to the top of romance listeners’ list of sure-to-deliver narrators and fans started following her titles with great loyalty.
I’m talking with Xe today about her past work, her works in progress, June is Audiobook Month, her site Going Public, and her JIAM event – Going Public…In Shorts.

About Going Public…In Shorts from Going Public:
This June, the audiobook community is giving back! Spoken Freely, a group of 38 professional narrators, has teamed with Going Public to celebrate June is Audiobook Month (JIAM) 2013 by offering a serialized audio story collection: Going Public…in Shorts. Each narrator has recorded a short piece from the public domain, including the work of Chekhov, Twain, Chopin, Poe, Lovecraft, Fitzgerald, Joyce, Wilde and many others, even Lincoln’s pivotal Second Inaugural Address. All proceeds will go to the Reach Out and Read literacy advocacy organization.

Thanks to Xe for joining us today and thanks also goes to Blackstone Audio for sponsoring today’s giveaway.
Lea Hensley
Thanks so much for having me over on the site today, Lea! In listening back, I just realized that I made an error in there regarding the origins of Going Public. I said that Going Public started in 2001 after Robin Sachs and Tanya teamed up for a surprise recording for Megan Fitzpatrick – but it was 2011!
I apologize for any confusion over that point. Ha! This is what happens when narrators work without a net (read: a manuscript) :)
Lea and Xe! Thank you so much for this lovely interview. Xe, the audio clips are fantastic!
It was especially wonderful to hear you and Robin creating such beauty together. He is greatly missed.
I am truly humbled (and very excited!) to be a part of GOING PUBLIC…..IN SHORTS. The project has become
so much more than any of us could have imagined, and that is thanks to your big heart and tireless work.
xo,
Coleen
