A pleasure and a calling!
I really enjoyed AL Jackson’s A Stone in the Sea. It’s New Adult with a musician hero. Both narrators excel.
I then listened to Molly Harper’s My Bluegrass Baby narrated by Amanda Ronconi. A funny sweet contemporary, I’ll definitely be listening to more. I’d say it was a B+ listen for me.
Now I’m back to an old Susan Elizabeth Phillips title – Fancy Pants. It’s the only SEP I haven’t read or listened to. Anna Fields narrates. Just started but expecting great things.
Just realized I have listened to Fancy Pants before – just didn’t note on my Goodreads shelf. Need to stop forgetting! However, I’m enjoying now that I’m past the very rich pampered society heroine’s background. It’s a great setup for what happens next.
Brenda, would love to know what you think of the narration of Soaring by KA. I love listening to her books but the narrator didn’t do it for me last book. Wondered if she is better for this book? I’m listening to The Girls of Mischief Bay by Susan Mallery’s this week!
Hi Bobbie,
I listened to The Will despite gritting my teeth and not liking the first few chapters. I ended up skipping straight to the scene where Jake and the kids go to dinner at Josie’s house the first time. From that point on the narration grew better and better. In the end I thoroughly enjoyed the naration.
I’ve had the same experience with Soaring – a slow start (story and narration) that grew into a very enjoyable listening experience. :)
