We look forward to our chats about what we’re listening to each week – we squee over the good and sigh over the not-so-good, tap each other up for ideas for future listens and generally gossip about what’s making our ears happy. Here’s what we’re listening to this week.

My niece and I are driving from L.A. to Seattle tomorrow and I have downloaded Anne of Green Gables and Beauty by Robin McKinley to listen to on the very long drive. I just got a new car and the sound system is absolutely amazing for audiobooks. ROAD TRIP
This summer I listened to most of the St. Cyr mysteries read by Davina Porter. Loved them, but the oddest thing, midway through the series Porter changes many of her pronunciations from “English” to “American” and it was slightly annoying. Has anyone else noticed these alterations?
I’m only up to book 3 in the St. Cyr books, although I seem to recall that the first books recorded were the later ones in the series and that the first five or six were recorded more recently – I’ll listen out for that change; it’s bound to annoy me, too!
You are right! I went to Audible and two thru four weren’t recorded until 2015. What Angels Fear was recorded in 2014, but it was first published in 2006. Very interesting to be sure.
