Here we are once again with our regular look at the audiobooks we’re most looking forward to listening to in the coming weeks. While three of us are looking forward to the latest release from the always enjoyable partnership of Mary Balogh and Rosalyn Landor, the other thing we all seem to have agreed on this month is that there’s a bit of a shortage of “OMG, Gimme, Gimme!” releases in May, and that it’s pretty slim pickings (!). Still, there are some good things that have us pricking up our ears – and please let us know if you’re dying to listen to something we’ve missed.
Someone to Care by Mary Balogh
Narrated by Rosalyn Landor
This is a series that I definitely need to catch-up on. Both Mary Balogh and Rosalyn Landor are extremely talented, and with their latest set to release this month, I hope to soon get caught-up with the previous in the Westcott series. – BJ
I’m really enjoying the Westcott series, about an aristocratic family who is thrown into turmoil when it becomes known that the head of their family had contracted a bigamous marriage. This fourth book features the man’s “not-wife” and her struggle to work out who and what she is. I’m really pleased to have a story about an attractive, vibrant heroine in her forties, and Mary Balogh + Rosalyn Landor = Must listen – Caz
No one narrates British historicals like Rosalyn Landor, and I’m super anxious to get my hands on Someone To Care, the latest entry in Mary Balogh’s Westcott series. I’ve been intrigued by Viola’s character ever since I first met her in Someone to Love, and I can’t wait to see her find her well-deserved HEA. – Shannon
Hazard by Stella Riley
Narrated by Alex Wyndham
Will Lord Nicholas finally win the hand and heart of the delectable Madeline Delacroix? They’ve been dancing around each other since The Player, and enquiring minds need to know! There’s romance on the horizon for the coolly enigmatic Aristide Delacroix, too … I’m looking forward to another visit with Rock and his set, and Alex Wyndham is sure to work his usual magic :) – Caz
With Alex Wyndham narrating, I’m sure to enjoy this listen. – Kaetrin
Harvest Song by Yasmine Galenorn
Narrated by Cassandra Campbell
Yasmine Galenorn and Cassandra Campbell are one of my very favorite author/narrator pairings, and this, the twentieth novel in Ms. Galenorn’s Otherworld series, promises to be another stellar listening experience. May 15th can’t come soon enough for my liking. – Shannon
A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas
Narrated by Amanda Leigh Cobb
I’ve absolutely loved Sarah J. Maas’s A Court of Thorns and Roses series, so I’m counting down the days until the release of the latest installment. I’m always ready and willing to spend time in such a richly-imagined world with characters who have begun to feel like friends. – Shannon
Making Up by Lucy Parker
Narrated by Billie Fulford-Brown
This is Lucy Parker’s third published novel and she’s already the ONLY author of contemporary romance who is on my “must read/listen” list. Billie Fulford-Brown – who narrated Ms. Parker’s Act Like It – returns to the narrator’s chair, so fingers crossed for a great listen! – Caz
Shelter in Place by Nora Roberts
Narrated by January LaVoy
After last year’s hit romantic suspense title, Come Sundown, I can’t wait to listen to Nora Robert’s upcoming release. I suspect this will be more suspense than romance, like last year’s title, but I’m sure it will have me on the edge of my seat! – BJ
Rescuing Wendy by Susan Stoker
Narrated by Stella Bloom
I enjoy Stella Bloom’s narrations and I’m always after new romantic suspense authors to try. And I *love* a rescue story! – Kaetrin
My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan
Narrated by Julia Whelan
I’m a huge fan of career driven heroines and their struggles at finding that delicate career/love balance. Julia Whelan is also a top-notch narrator, so I can’t wait to listen to her book, My Oxford Year which she both wrote and narrated. – BJ
I’m dying to listen to Artificial Condition (Murderbot #2) by Martha Wells. I’ve listened to All Systems Red (Murderbot #1) so many times I’ve practically memorized it.
