The Gals are back with our regular monthly look at the audiobooks we’re excited to listen to over the coming weeks. As usual, we’ve chosen a mix of genres, authors and narrators, some familar, some not, and hope that maybe you’ll find something here to pique your interest. If you think we’re missing out on something good, please drop by and tell us in the comments what you’re most looking forward to listening to this month.
Above the Angels by Rhys Bowen
Narrated by Gemma Dawson
This historical mystery title caught my eye as its included in the Audible Escape package. – BJ
Magical Midlife Madness by K.F. Breene
Narrated by Nicole Poole
I’m a huge fan of Nicole Poole’s narrations, so when I read the blurb of this book which sounds like a cross between a small town Virgin River-like series and a PNR series (with a heroine in her forties to boot), I decided I’d take a chance on this title in February even though I’m less familiar with the author. – BJ
Pansies by Alexis Hall
Narrated by Cornell Collins
I’m a huge fan of the author’s and once again, audio proves the perfect way to catch up with books I haven’t yet read! I’ve enjoyed a number of narrations by Cornell Collins in the past, and he’s sure to do a good job here. – Caz
Everyone has a favorite Hall novel (and if you don’t, why not?) and this one is mine. Tender, funny, sweet, and sexy, Pansies showcases all the reasons I love Hall’s novels. I’m always looking for new audio books to enjoy on my evening runs, and this one is sure to be a repeat pleasure. – Em
Chasing Cassandra by Lisa Kleypas
Narrated by Mary Jane Wells
I have been thoroughly enjoying the Ravenels series and can’t wait to listen to this next installment. – BJ
One of my most anticipated audiobooks, I’m hanging out for Cassandra and Tom Severin’s story and I’m SO hoping to get a little more of West Ravenel too. – Kaetrin
I Love the Earl by Caroline Linden
Narrated by Gildart Jackson
I love Caroline Linden’s historical romances, and am really pleased to see this prequel to one of her earlier series (The Truth About the Duke) coming to audio. I enjoyed Gildart Jackson’s performances in the other books in the series, so fingers crossed! – Caz
The Girl in White Gloves by Kerri Maher
Narrated by Kimberly Farr
I’ve been fascinated by Grace Kelly for years, so this historical fiction title looks like it’ll be right up my alley. The synopsis gives the impression the story isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, which is how I prefer most things I read. I’ve listened to Kimberly Farr in the past and have been pleased with her performances, so I’m definitely planning to grab The Girl in White Gloves as soon as it’s available.- Shannon
Risk Taker by Lily Morton
Narrated by Joel Leslie
I loved Henry in the other books in Lily Morton’s Mixed Messages series, and am looking forward to listening to his story. I’m so glad Joel Leslie signed on to narrate these books – his performances in the other titles have been terrific and I can’t want to dive into this one! – Caz
The Borgia Confessions by Alyssa Palombo
Narrated by Eva Kaminsky and Tim Campbell
I can’t wait to be swept back in time to the strangely seductive world of the Borgias. I’ve read a couple of the author’s other books and was impressed by her attention to historical detail as well as her beautiful prose. Eva Kaminsky and Tim Campbell are both competent narrators who, although not at the top of my preferred list, should bring the story to life in a pleasing way. – Shannon
Golden in Death by J.D. Robb
Narrated by Susan Ericksen
Can you believe the In Death series is up to fifty books?! I still love this series and the audios are fantastic. I pre-ordered my copy and downloaded it on release day and will be cueing it up soon. – Kaetrin
Hither, Page by Cat Sebastian
Narrated by Joel Leslie
More Joel Leslie – it’s like Christmas all over again! I really enjoyed this (mostly) cozy mystery set in a post WW2 English village when I read it last year and am really looking forward to experiencing it again in audio. – Caz
The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James
Narrated by Brittany Pressley and Kirsten Potter
I’m not the biggest fan of ghosty books, but there’s something really special about Simone St. James’ writing that manages to hook me in every time. Plus, both Brittany Pressley and Kirsten Potter are phenomenal narrators, so my hopes are high for this February release. – Shannon
Just One Year by Penelope Ward
Narrated by Andi Arndt and Shane East
I’m a huge fan of both the author and the narrators of this new adult romance. I also enjoy the hate to love trope, so I’m looking forward to listening to Just One Year. – BJ
