The last two weeks have been a bit “meh” for me in terms of audiobooks. I haven’t read or listened to many books this week. I did listen to Southernmost Murder by C.S. Poe and was unimpressed with the story and the narration. That was a disappointment. Then I relistened Heated Rivalry. I don’t love the narration, but I was busy reading In Step by Jay Hogan in print so I went with HR on audio. Even with the not-so-great narration I love that book.
Currently I’m listening to Sink or Swim by Annabeth Albert, narrated by Greg Boudreaux and Joel Leslie. The book is good, no obvious issues, yet I’m not crazy about it so far. I do appreciate how the author is handling Calder’s sexuality, which I think I’d describe as grey ace and demi. The narration is excellent.
I haven’t listened to much this week, either. After powering through several books last week while I was unwell, I’ve got back to doing other stuff this week. Heated Rivalry is one of my favourite books but I just couldn’t do it in audio. I tried – but I think it’s even harder to put up with ‘meh’ narration when you really, really love a book; I have a dream where the rights expire and Harper/Harlequin audio gets Cooper North to re-record the first three books in the series!!
Look for my review of the Albert next week. I think I liked the story a bit more than you ;)
