  1. Looking over my e-mails I saw one from Audible about the winners of this years audios…..

Can you believe this???? The Bridges of Madison County is the winner for best romance. What a bunch of idiots!!!!

I’d really like to know who these so-called judges are……I mean really…..has anyone at Audible ever listened to a “real” romance with all the necessary components along with the obligatory HEA. I doubt it because every year they pick a non-romance as the best romance…… it irritates me to no end,

    1. Mel – I’m so incensed by this (as most of us are here at AG) that I’m giving up on the Audies. No need to talk about the winning books as it really has nothing to do with listener favorites. They disregard official classification of books when it comes to the romance genre but they don’t seem to do so with other genres.

I did want to feature the winning romance narrator in some way. BUT, a romance didn’t win.

    2. While I pretty much agree with everything you are saying, I do want to point out that Audible does not supply the judges. The judges are volunteers recruited by APA (Audio Publishers Association), which completely runs the Audies awards program, not Audible. I am incredibly outraged that Bridges was chosen, and also outraged that First Love was among the finalists – neither of these pass the criteria. It makes me question all of their awards.
