This is a list of the reviews at AudioGals featuring the work of the wonderful romance/romantic suspense author LINDA HOWARD – it’s woefully short, considering Audible lists 44 unabridged titles, but features some of her great works on audio!

The Woman Left Behind by Linda Howard
June 26, 2018
Narration: B+Story: B+Reviewer: BJPublisher: Harper AudioNarrated by Saskia Maarleveld Lovers of action/suspense romance will be excited by the special ops background and deep seated romantic tension in The Woman Left Behind. Although the central focus of this story is on the individual characters and their personal growth and mutual attraction, there is enough of a shadow of an action and suspense ...

Narration: BStory: B-Reviewer: KaetrinPublisher: Dreamscape AudioNarrated by Lesa Lockford First published in 1988, White Lies is the fourth book in Linda Howard’s much-loved Kell Sabin series. I read it in about 2010 and I thought it was a bit dated then. Suffice to say that nearly six years (and consequent technological advancement) hasn’t improved the situation. White Lies was written pre-DNA and ...

September 8, 2015
Narration: BStory: BReviewer: BrendaPublisher: Dreamscape AudioNarrated by Lesa Lockford Duncan’s Bride is the tale of an isolated Montana rancher searching for a wife – an interesting 1990’s twist on the mail order bride scenario. I mention 1990 (the original publication date) to help explain our overbearing hero. I’ll tell you upfront he’s an alpha ***hat as only Linda Howard can write ...

June 19, 2015
Narration: B+Story: CReviewer: CarriePublisher: Dreamscape AudioNarrated by Lesa Lockford At just under three hours, Overload is perfect for a quick vintage Linda Howard fix. But if you’re looking for anything with a plot, then pass this one by. There is little character development, and the plot is as follows: Tom and Elizabeth used to date. She broke it off because he ...
Read moreDiamond Bay by Linda Howard
June 4, 2014
Narration: B+Story: BReviewer: MeganPublisher: Dreamscape AudioNarrated by Brenda Sweeney Linda Howard’s Diamond Bay (Book 2 in the Rescues series) is one of my favorite re-reads of that 1980s escapist vintage. Listeners who have been waiting for this in audio: take heart. Brenda Sweeney’s narration does justice to this comfort read. Kell Sabin is a seminal alpha hero. His character is a precursor to Howard’s ...

February 27, 2014
Narration: AStory: AReviewer: MelindaPublisher: Random House AudioNarrated by Carrington MacDuffie Shadow Woman is in the vein of Linda Howard’s more recent romantic suspense novels, with a heavy emphasis on the suspense that almost supersedes the romance. The prologue introduces us to the horrific murder of the President of the United States by his wife, witnessed by a Secret Service agent who loses her ...

January 21, 2013
Narration: AStory: AReviewer: MelindaPublisher: Simon & SchusterNarrated by Kate Forbes This is classic LH romantic suspense and features one of her best RS heroes ever – the elusive John Medina. John is a sort of a Gray Ghost of LH’s RS world, too mysterious to pin down, too many names and personas. When he does fall, he falls hard. His heroine is ...

Narration: B+Story: A-Reviewer: LeaPublisher: Random House AudioNarrated by Maggie Wheeler Trying a new narrator with a favorite author’s book is a chancy proposition for me and one I don’t often pursue without a lot of assurances from my romance audio friends. But when Brenda uncovered the little known fact that Maggie Wheeler is none other than Chandler’s obnoxious girlfriend, Janice, from Friends, ...

Narration: AStory: A+Reviewer: MelindaPublisher: Simon & SchusterNarrated by Laura Hicks Perfect pretty much describes this wonderful story in audio! Narration: AStory: C-Reviewer: BrendaPublisher: Dreamscape AudioNarrated by Lesa Lockford Linda Howard wrote several books early in her career in which I find the heroes define the word Troglodyte = a person characterized by outmoded or reactionary attitudes with heroines who put up with them and actually fall in love with them instead of sweeping them out the door. With the recent release of The ...

Mr. Perfect was my first Linda Howard book. I’ve read all of them and this one and Open Season are still my favorite.
I’m a big fan of the abridged Open Season narrated by Kate Forbes – it’s probably the only abridged audiobook I’ve ever recommended!
