As well as the famous showers, April promises some good listening – as the Gals have discovered in choosing which audiobooks we’re most looking forward to listening to in the near future. Some of these titles are already available, some are coming out later in the month, but in each case, our choices are based on a variety of factors; author, narrator, story… or just gut instinct. Are any of these on your wish list? Have you listened to any of them and if so, what did you think? Have we missed out anything you’re looking forward to? Join in the discussion in the comments.
Snared by Jennifer Estep
Narrated by Lauren Fortgang
Though I’m not quite caught up with the Elemental Assassins series, I was thrilled to see that the latest installment (book 15!) in this series, Snared, releases this month. Sporting a great storyline and narration, I look forward to continuing my journey through this PNR series soon. – BJ
The Elemental Assassin is one of my very favorite urban fantasy series. The central relationship is great. The world-building is amazing. The plot hasn’t gotten old, even though this is the sixteenth entry in the series. Lauren Fortgang masterfully brings the characters to life. Can you tell I’m excited about this one? – Shannon
Slightly Dangerous by Mary Balogh
Narrated by Rosalyn Landor
And here we are – Wulf’s book at last. He’s been a strong background presence throughout the other books in the series; the patriarchal, authoritarian brother who is always proper and terrifies anyone who dares stand up to him by the mere movement of his quizzing glass. Rosalyn Landor’s work throughout this series has been amazing, and I’m sure this instalment will not disappoint. – Caz
The Hangman by Mary Burton
Narrated by Christina Traister
I admit, I’ve chosen this solely because I so enjoyed listening to the previous title in the Forgotten Files series, The Dollmaker, and I’m hoping for more of the same; a well-constructed, complex plot, engaging characters and excellent narration. – Caz
Alex and Eliza: A Love Story by Melissa De La Cruz
Narrated by Cassandra Campbell
Fans of the hit Broadway musical Hamilton won’t want to miss this historical romance that tells the story of Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Skyler. Cassandra Campbell’s narration is sure to add an extra layer of enjoyment, making this an audiobook I can’t wait to listen to. – Shannon
Miss You by Kate Eberlen
Narrated by Anna Acton and Finlay Robertson
I’m not familiar with the author or either of the narrators, but the synopsis of Miss You caught my attention. I love stories like this, where the role fate plays in romantic love is examined. I’m hoping for good things. – Shannon
Sin with Me by J. T. Geissinger
Narrated by Sebastian York and Teri Clark Linden
I’ve heard great things about Sin with Me. It sounds fun and sexy with perhaps a dash of suspense thrown in. To sweeten the deal, Sebastian York is one of the narrators, so I’m pretty sure this will be an enjoyable listen. – Shannon
Risk No Secrets by Cindy Gerard
Narrated by Holden Still.
I’m still laughing at the narrator’s name but he sounded alright on the sample. This is a Gerard I haven’t read before. I’m excited! – Kaetrin
Ride Rough by Laura Kaye
Narrated by Abby Craden.
It’s a second chance at love story with a rescue plot too – sounds like catnip to me. – Kaetrin
Mister Moneybags by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward
Narrated by Sebastian York and Andi Arndt
I’ve enjoyed prior romances by the writing duo of Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward and the narrator duo of Sebastian York and Andi Arndt is always one of my contemporary romance favorites, so I’m looking forward to their latest release due out in April, Mister Moneybags. – BJ
Hard Hearted Highlander by Julia London
Narrated by Derek Perkins
In spite of my general aversion to books with “highland” in the title, I’ve enjoyed this series by Julia London in large part due to the splendid performances by Derek Perkins, and am looking forward to this final instalment. – Caz
Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn
Narrated by Rosalyn Landor
I’ve been looking forward to this book, about Colin, the jaunty, devil-may-care Bridgerton brother who is known for not taking anything too seriously – and his long-term friend, Penelope Featherington. Childhood friends, friends-to-lovers, Julia Quinn and Rosalyn Landor. What more could any historical romance fan want? – Caz
Twist by Kylie Scott
Narrated by Andi Arndt
I had the pleasure of reading this one early. With Andi Arndt narrating, there’s no doubt this will be a hit on audio too. – Kaetrin
Preston’s Honor by Mia Sheridan
Narrated by J.F. Harding and Mercedes Moreno
Mia Sheridan (of Archer’s Voice fame) is a pro at angst-filled, new adult romances. This April we will be treated to her latest, Preston’s Honor. Although I’m not familiar with the narrators, I plan to give it a listen. – BJ
Tell us what you’re looking forward to listening to in April in the comments!
Good Choices!–I would add The Chosen by J.R, Ward/ Jim Frangione and Wicked Abyss by Kresley Cole–add of course with Robert Petkoff narrating how can you go wrong–I just wish he would narrate more romance!!
