  1. Kristen Callihan’s Dear Enemy. It had a lot of negative reviews, and a lot of “I don’t want to go there”s, but I’ve enjoyed her books before and I’m very glad I took the chance on this one.

    1. I haven’t listened to any of Kristen Callihan’s books on audio, but I read Managed and thought it was terrific. I also enjoyed Fall but Dear Enemy was a DNF for me I’m afraid. Not because of the sibling thing which seemed to bother many – I have no siblings so that aspect didn’t occur to me!

  2. I’m just coming to the end of Boyfriend Material now, as I haven’t had much listening time again this week.

Are you going to review the audio here, Caz? If so, I’ll keep my comments until then. (Spoiler: they’re spookily similar to those you made yesterday on AAR!)

Then I’ll move onto Slippery Creatures by KJC.

    1. I probably won’t review it here, only because I think I’d struggle to find something different to say about the story! I do review audio versions of books I’ve read (as I did recently with Josh Lanyon’s Murder at Pirate’s Cove, but some are easier than others. I posted something at Goodreads which I think said pretty much the same as the comment you’re referring to. I’ll be listening to Slippery Creatures soon, too, and I do plan to review that one here.

  3. I just finished A Wicked Kind of Husband by Mia Vincy. Overall it worked for me and I thought the story and characters were just original enough to set it apart. I had some issues, but they didn’t detract too much. I gave it a 4 star rating on Goodreads. But the narration by Kate Reading was masterful and it’s worth listening just to hear her clever handling of the story.

I’ve been out of the loop for several years, and It’s good to catch up with Audiogals.

    1. *waves* Good to ‘see’ you, Carrie! I loved the Vincy in print and audio – and the third in the series is due for an audio release in a couple of months. When I read AWKoH I heard Kate Reading in my head; I couldn’t think of anyone who could have done better with the story!

      1. It’s good to see you, too, Caz. As I’ve finally drifted back into reading more and actually recording my books on Goodreads, it’s been fun to see “old” friends. I’m happy to see you still reading and reviewing. I’ve also had fun re-reading my old reviews here. I wish the ones on Speaking of Audiobooks were archived, along with those great discussions we had there.
