We’ll be announcing a few changes at AudioGals soon – we’re working on some new features to bring you more content each week so keep your eyes peeled to find out what’s coming up! Also, this week we’re welcoming Carrie back to AudioGals; if you’ve been with us for a while, you will probably recognise her as one of the original reviewing team, and we’re so pleased she’s agreed to write the occasional review for us again!
In the meantime, it’s Friday, and you know what that means :)
Here’s what the Gals have been listening to this week.

I’ve been listening to a new (to me) author, Lisa Henry, purely on the strength of Gary Furlong being the narrator. The first book “Not Until Noah” pairs an Aussie nanny with a closeted bi movie star who is on location with his daughter. The second “Because of Ben” follows an openly bi rock star and a 21 year old closeted gay Christian man at a youth conference. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the age and power imbalances, but the author does at least address them and have the couples talk openly about consent. Of course, Gary Furlong is an incredible narrator and hits every note just right.
My other series at the moment is a god/monster romp by KC Cross (JA Huss) narrated by the always delicious-sounding Jason Clarke and Hathaway Lee. It’s totally bonkers but very entertaining.
I’ve read a couple of books by Lisa Henry and enjoyed them – they were solid B-/B grade reads. I did see those books in audio and agree that Gary F is superb, but I haven’t picked either up yet – I think I’ve got the first one on my Audible wish list.
I love Jason Clarke, too… shame he doesn’t record any m/m. I suppose I’ll have to live in hope!
Not sure if you use Scribd but that’s where I found the audio versions of the Henry books. If Jason Clarke ever gets into the m/m narration world, I would insta-buy.
I’m not sure Scribd is available in the UK – I’ll have a look.
And yes, Jason Clarke reading m/m would be a must-buy! (Provided the story is decent of course – no Lauren Blakely, please!)
