It’s that time of the month when the Gals scour the new release lists to come up with our Monthly Picks – the new and upcoming audiobook releases we’re most looking forward to listening to over the next few weeks. As usual, it’s not an exhaustive list – just the titles that have caught our eye and interest, and that we hope maybe you will enjoy, too!
Cold Snap by Toni Anderson
Narrated by Eric G. Dove
I’m always up for a good romantic suspense yarn and Toni Anderson is one of the best. This the third book in her Cold Justice: Most Wanted series, is the story of an undercover FBI agent who returns to his small home town on the trail of one of the Bureau’s most wanted fugitives but soon finds himself hunting a new killer. – Caz
Magic Tides/Magic Claims by Ilona Andrews
Narrated by Hilary Huber and Michael Glenn
More Kate and Curran – need I say more? – Kaetrin
Hello Stranger by Katherine Center
Narrated by Patty Murin
I loved last year’s The Bodyguard – definitely looking forward to this one. – Kaetrin
A Rulebook for Restless Rogues by Jess Everlee
Narrated by Tommy Hawthorne
I enjoyed the first book in this series, so I’m definitely excited about this one. – Carrie
I read an ARC of this and wasn’t quite as wowed by it as I was by The Gentleman’s Book of Vices, but I enjoyed it enough to want to experience it again in audio. – Caz
Crow’s Fate by Kim Fielding
Narrated by Joel Leslie
This is book one of an intriguing new multi-author fantasy series, Carnival of Mysteries. I like both the author and narrator, so I’m definitely picking this one up. – Carrie
This looks like an interesting series; like Carrie, I enjoy both author and narrator, so I’ll be picking this one up, too. – Caz
Outside by Nicky James
Narrated by Nick J. Russo
Part Two of the Death Row Chronicles, Outside picks up just a few days after the events of Inside, and follows former death row inmate Ndiyae Bishop as he struggles to adjust to a world which has changed massively and to being in a relationship. Angsty, thought-provoking and superbly narrated by Nick J. Russo. – Caz
Something Unexpected by Vi Keeland
Narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Andi Arndt
One of my go-to contemporary romance authors and a dynamic narrating duo make this July release one I’ll be listening to soon! – BJ
Criminal Intentions S1E10 – Backdraft by Cole McCade
Narrated by Curt Bonnem
Mal and Seong-Jae are back on active duty, and find themselves enmeshed in internal politics when they have to investigate some of their own after a 911 call gone wrong. Curt Bonnem’s narration is a terrific addition to this fabulous series. – Caz
Face Blind by J.L. Merrow
Narrated by DeeDee Ash
I read and enjoyed this one when it came out last year – it’s an atmospheric tale with a touch of the paranormal, featuring two men who are trying to come to terms with and move on from traumatic events in their pasts set in and around Glastonbury at Samhain. I’m not at all familiar with the narrator and the Audible sample isn’t helpful (it’s the blurb!) – so I’ll probably wait for some reviews before I decide whether to give this one a go! – Caz
The Lie and the Lady by Kate Noble
Narrated by Rachel Beresford
Kate Noble, is, IMO, a very underrated author of historical romances. I really enjoyed this one in print when it came out in 2016 – it’s clever and complex, featuring flawed, but engaging protagonists in a cross-class romance. I’m not familiar with the narrator, but the sample sounds promising. – Caz
Mogul by Joanna Shupe
Narrated by Courtney Patterson and Ryan Stone
I’m always a fan of historical romances, especially those with a new twist, and this takes place in New York during the Gilded Age! – BJ
I liked this one when I read it, so I might give it a go in audio. – Caz
The Hustler Next Door by KA Tucker
Narrated by Tina Wolstencroft
I’m not familiar with the narrator, but with KA Tucker writing I’m intrigued enough to give this title a listen. – BJ
Step Right Up by L.A. Witt
Narrated by Michael Ferraiuolo and John Solo
Book two in Carnival of Mysteries boasts a prolific author and a solid narrating team, so on my TBR list it goes.- Carrie
Shanna by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss
Narrated by Robin Miles & Cassandra York
OMG this takes me back – will it hold up? I shall report back! – Kaetrin
